This position is for an IT Engineer in the Quote to Order (Cisco Commerce work-space) team. The position involves playing a very active role in design and delivery of the highly collaborative Next Generation Commerce Platform for Cisco. This new platform will process the 40 Billion plus Cisco's transactional revenue via Web and B2B (EDI/XML). Many of the capabilities will also be enabled using mobile technologies (iPhone and Android) on a mobile platform. Focus is to foster platform agnostic "Any Where Any Device " strategy to help Cisco Partners, Distributors, Customers and Cisco Account Managers to collaborate and transact their business more efficiently. The platform will allow Pricing, Product Configuration, Quoting & Deal Management and Order Capture and processing in a highly integrated service oriented architecture platform.

The Candidate will design and implement web based systems/applications using Java, Web 2.0 technologies, Oracle database and other software development tools in a multi-platform environment.
Performs design, coding and implementation for cross-functional systems. May assist with tool selection and strategic direction of tools, systems and software packages. Works with a team of Architects Tech Leads and engineers involved in development of eCommerce software for Cisco products, software and services. Partners closely with cross functional team to work on technical solutions, and recommends and ensures proper technical alternatives have been considered.
Recognized expert in multiple technological fields of specialization outside of the organization. Functions as the highest level of technical resource. Resolves and consults on the most complex issues. Good understanding of all current technologies and good understanding of emerging technologies. Good understanding of business impact of technology.
Requires a strong background SW design, and implementation preferably on eCommerce projects.
2. Knowledge of Database design, PL-SQL development
3. Knowledge of Oracle database and database concepts
4. Strong problem solving skills and technical aptitude
5. Experience using source code control (CVS, PVCS)
6. Knowledge of Java frameworks like Struts or Turbine
7. Strong oral and written communication skills
Typically requires BS/CS/Business or equivalent plus 8-10 years experience in a software or telecommunications environment. MS strongly preferred. Typically requires BS/CS/Business or equivalent plus 8-10 years experience in a software or telecommunications environment. MS will be a plus.
